Sanga Thekchok Dechen Ling Monastery in Namche is 117 years old as of 2026. It holds significant historical value and continues to play a vital role in preserving and promoting the teachings of Lord Buddha.
To support the development of the monastery, a construction committee has been formed under the Everest Sherpa Foundation to oversee the construction of a new monks’ dormitory building (Lama Simjung). The Everest Sherpa Foundation is responsible for implementing the project, with generous financial support from Dr. Matthias Baumann of Sherpa NepalHilfe Germany.
