The memorial rock and ice festival was held for the very first time in Thame valley.
During the festival various rock and ice climbing training was provided to the local and visiting participants in the Hungo ice wall located in Thame. After the successful completion of the festival the ice wall was named “ Tenzing Norgay ice climbing wall “.
Similarly, the various rock-climbing routes were named after legendary Sherpa climbers such as Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, Ang Rita Sherpa, Apa Sherpa, Lhakpa Rita Sherpa and Kami Rita Sherpa.
