Reconstruction of Kitchen-Dining of Thame Monastery

Dechen Choekholing Thame Monatery is about 350 years old. It not only has its historical importance but also playing vital role to preserve and practice the teaching of Buddha.

After devastating earthquake hit the valley in 2015, monastery as well as its surrounding buildings were damaged and at higher risk in terms of the vulnerability and hazards created by earthquake. This project can be seemed as a crucial and worthwhile project to provide earthquake resistance Kitchen-Dining building to the monastery and community of Khumbu valley.

For the construction of Kitchen-Dining Building of Thame Monastery, construction committee is formed under Yambu Thamichho Kydug. Yambu Thamichho Kydug is responsible for construction of the Kitchen-Dinning building with the financial support of Dr. Stephan Goetz and Mr. Wolfgang Pohl’s advise and support.
